Camp Lakota!!

This year, I sold 3,000 boxes of cookies during cookie season. Part of those activities for my awards was Camp Lakota!!!

One of my top goals was to earn my way to Camp Lakota—and I did it! To get there, I needed to sell 1,500 boxes of cookies, and I was determined to make it happen. It wasn’t always easy, but I stayed focused and kept going, even on long days of selling. Reaching that goal meant more than just hitting a number—it meant I got to experience something really special. Camp Lakota was full of fun, adventure, and new friends, and knowing I earned it through my hard work made it even more meaningful. Every box I sold brought me one step closer to that amazing summer experience.

One of my absolute favorite camp activities is ziplining—and this year, I got to experience it for the fifth time! Even though I’ve done it before, that climb up the tall tree to the launch dock never fails to get my heart racing. It’s always a little scary looking down from such a height, but once I’m up there, I remind myself of how incredible the ride is going to be.

The moment I pushed off the platform, all my nerves disappeared. The wind rushing past my face, the feeling of flying through the trees, and that burst of relief knowing the hardest part was over—it was all so worth it.

What made it even more special was hearing my fellow Girl Scouts cheering me on from below. Their support gave me an extra boost of confidence and made the whole experience even more memorable.

I’m so happy I had the chance to zipline again. It’s an adventure I’ll never get tired of, and I can’t wait for the next time I get to soar through the treetops!

At camp, I also got to do horseback riding and archery, which were both really fun. During horseback riding, we did  and learned how to guide and take care of the horses. It was a great way to try something new with my Girl Scout friends. Archery was all about focus and practice. After a few rounds, I started to improve and could hit the target more often. Doing these activities together made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, this camp was truly amazing! I had such a great time taking part in so many different activities and creating unforgettable memories with my Girl Scout friends. Whether it was trying new things like archery and horseback riding or just spending time together around camp, every moment was special.

This experience reminded me how much I love being a Girl Scout and how many opportunities it gives me to grow, learn, and have fun. I’m more motivated than ever to keep working toward my goals—especially selling cookies! I’m really excited to keep going and reach (or even pass!) my goal of 1,500 boxes. Can’t wait to see what’s next on this journey!
